Version 2.0 of Edit Buddy was released on September 25, 2002:
-
Edit Buddy now adds support for Microsoft Office, Corel
Graphics Suite, .NET applications, applications written with Visual Basic,
Borland Delphi and C++ Builder.
-
No hardware dependent activation is any longer required.
In order to unlock the evaluation copy, customer now needs simple 16-digit
Key Code formatted just like a credit card number. Old code that generates
the Hardware ID that is unique to each computer is now available for sale
as a library for developers. Please contact us at support@decisoft.com
if you are interested.
-
Ctrl+F key now saves current entry immediately.
-
Arrow Up key now scrolls through items in the list, when
list is not dropped.
-
Several other shortcut keys are added, please read new
chapter in online help.
-
Context menu now has two extra items toggling "Auto-remember"
and "Directory only" functions. (Note that "Directory only"
is only available on Open and Save dialog boxes.)
-
Combo-boxes, that Edit Buddy attaches to, are now resized,
just like regular edit fields.
-
Smarter handling of re-sizable dialog boxes, in particular
of the search pane in Windows Explorer (Windows 2000 and XP).
-
Improvements in handling international versions. Special
attention is paid to Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish,
and Swedish, but other international systems should be more compatible as well.
-
List of buddies is now sorted on Windows 9x, Me. (It
was always sorted on Windows NT, 2000, and XP.)
- Better compatibility with Windows 95.
-
Fixed problem when system would freeze when "IP
number"-style edit field is displayed.
-
Fixed very many other smaller bugs, based on customers'
feedback.
